It then plummets 43 meters before calmly flowing out toward Lake Albert as a placid river whose banks are dense with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes, and countless water birds. You will also hike to the top of the falls to observe it from another perspective. After these incredible encounters, you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Thanks to the park rangers, who know where to find the chimpanzees easily. They will lead you during this thrilling activity and once you find a troop of chimpanzees, you will spend a maximum of one hour with them. You will observe these vocal apes grooming, feeding, playing and jumping from tree to tree and take enough pictures to tell your story back home.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi wetland and experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature, as well as take a walk through the Bigodi community found within the borders of Kibale Forest. Bigodi village settles in the highlands of western Uganda, in the shadows of the Ruwenzori Mountains, the famous “Mountains of the Moon.”

Its name, “Impenetrable Forest,” is derived from the dense ground cover of herbs, vines, and shrubs, with only a few trees the valley bottoms contain.
You will have a quick breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Forest through the Ishasha sector, where you will spot tree-climbing lions. Enjoy amazing and spectacular views of banana and tea plantations, the overall green vegetation of the area, rolling hills, tropical rainforest, and the majestic Virunga volcanic chain. Day 8: Gorilla trekking and community walk
After an early morning breakfast, you are expected to be at the park headquarters in time (around 7:40 a.m.) for registration and a briefing session. You will join a group of other trekkers (usually a maximum of eight) and be led into the forest jungle by two armed ranger guides for your safety while trekking the primates.
Gorilla trekking is an once-in-a-lifetime experience and trekking these gentle giants in their natural habitat is worth every penny. You will spend between 4 and 8 hours looking for the gorillas, depending on their movements and location. Therefore, it is advisable to carry a packed lunch, enough drinking water, and trekking equipment (sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, and walking or supporting sticks).
After finding a family of habituated gorillas, you will be allowed to spend a maximum of one hour with them. This time seems to be too little, but it is enough for you to observe these gentle and charming creatures from a safe distance of 10 metres. You will take as many pictures as you want, then return to the headquarters for your gorilla trekking certificate and return to your lodge.
In the evening, you will embark on a community walk where you will visit the Batwa pygmies, an indigenous people who have lived in this forest for ages. You will meet them, learn about their culture and way of life, and also contribute to conservation programs.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
After an early morning breakfast (6:30 a.m.), you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, home to over 332 bird species. You will stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and then proceed with the road trip. You will enjoy breath-taking views of Kabale’s scenic landscape, a combination of terraced hills, forests, and banana plantations.
Upon arrival at the park, you will embark on a boat ride on the lake. It is rich with a wide variety of aquatic animal species, including hippos, crocodiles, and numerous water birds. Lake Mburo National Park is the capital of zebras and impalas. That means it has the highest populations of zebras and impalas (the only place to see them) in Uganda.
You will also see other residents of this park on game drives. They include warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffaloes, reedbucks, and bird species, among others. You can also take a nature walk in the evening before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.
