11 Days the Great Tanzania Wildebeest Migration and Zanzibar

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet your safari guide and be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for the night. Sip on the freshest ‘cuppa’ you are likely to find here anywhere as you enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru.

You will spend the night in a plush plantation room, surrounded by lush green bushes whose branches are studded with red coffee berries. You can explore the coffee plantation, learn more about the beverage on the Bean to Cup tour, or opt to have a spa treatment at Peaberries.

After a sumptuous breakfast at Arusha Coffee Lodge, you will return to Arusha to catch a scheduled flight to the Manyara Airstrip and then transfer by road to the simple but comfortable Ngorongoro Crater Camp. This intimate tented camp is set in a shady forest close to the crater rim itself and provides easy access into the crater.

You will brace yourself for an exhilarating afternoon drive on the crater floor and a full-day excursion the next day. The steep-sided crater, which is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, is home to the densest concentration of mammalian species in Africa.

Ngorongoro Crater has built its reputation on unrivaled Big 5 game viewing throughout the year. Popular sightings here include elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions, and leopards. After an exciting dose of awe, you will return to your classic tented suite, enjoy the private bathroom with a hot-water bucket shower, and dine on home-cooked meals served under the stars.

On day four, you will take a charter flight from the Manyara Airstrip to the Serengeti to allow you time to settle into your new camp before embarking on your explorations up to day six.

Kichakani Serengeti Camp is ideal for your stay in Serengeti and specializes in wildebeest migration. The camp moves easily between three different locations to ensure guests enjoy grandstand views of the action, whether it is the massed herds on the move, the spectacular birthing season, or the raw drama of the river crossings.

You may have a few stops on the way at other lodges, but before long, you’ll finally let your bags hit the floor of your air-conditioned suite and stretch your legs on a powder-soft beach.
