Wildlife viewing, quantity, and species of animals seen are dependent upon local conditions, including weather, wind, and seasonal migration patterns. The take-off time and duration of the flight and safari may vary due to weather conditions. Balloon rides vary but are usually 45 minutes to an hour.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro - Arusha.
Meet your Tanzania safari guide on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and proceed to your lodge or hotel in Arusha. The rest of the day is for leisure and entertainment; relax and enjoy the African atmosphere as you interact. Your safari commences the following day.

Day 2: Arusha.
Today is still at leisure to give you time to acclimatize. You may relax at the swimming pool or explore the environment surrounding the lodge. Your private guide will visit you at the lodge for a safari briefing. You may choose to do an activity on this day, as there are a number of options you may engage in, like walking, canoeing, or a city tour.
Day 3: Transfer to Arusha National Park.
After breakfast at your lodge or hotel, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Arusha National Park, where your safari starts. This charming park has a rich diversity of landscape and wildlife, from lakes, waterfalls, and swamps to volcanoes, mountains, and tropical rainforest. They attract many beautiful birds, including silvery-cheeked hornbills and thousands of pink-hued flamingos. This is the only park in northern Tanzania where you can easily sight the black-and-white colobus monkey.
Canoeing or walking safaris with an armed ranger are some of the popular activities in this park. This is an opportunity to enjoy wildlife up close from a different perspective than sitting in a safari vehicle.

Day 4: Back to Arusha.

Day 5: Transfer to Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. This park has an authentic safari atmosphere, although it is one of the less known parks in Tanzania. The hilly landscape, scattered with grand baobab trees against the blue sky, offers spectacular sightings. Witness the world’s largest concentration of elephants. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen around the Tarangire River, drinking or enjoying a mud bath. Apart from elephant sightings, Tarangire is a popular birder’s paradise. In the area around these swamps, you can also see lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even tree-climbing pythons.
You will have a picnic lunch on arrival before embarking on your first game drive from late afternoon to sunset. Tarangire forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras.
