3 Days Amboseli Safari Overview

3 Days Amboseli Safari takes you to Kenya’s legendary Amboseli National Park, which is set against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m) and known for hundreds of big-tusked elephant sightings as its signature attraction.

The 3 Days Amboseli Safari offers the opportunity to explore one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. This magnificent park is popular for its stunning scenery, with the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro towering over the vast plains in the background.

At Amboseli National Park and Mt. Kilimanjaro, nature enthusiasts can discover five distinct habitats, including the drained lakebed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulfur springs, savannah, and forests. You can visit the local Masai community that lives around the park and experience their authentic culture, only found in Kenya.

3 Days Amboseli National Park Safari Detailed Itinerary

Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi or the airport in the morning and embark on a scenic road trip to Amboseli National Park. This relaxing drive takes you through an African savannah country, with local homesteads punctuating the vast plain.

You will watch Masai herdsmen draped in their colourful wraps as they tend to their flocks. You will arrive in Amboseli National Park in the late morning, and you will view wildlife as you proceed to your reserved lodge.

After settling and enjoying a delicious lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive in search of the park’s popular residents like zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, warthogs, ostriches, and many more.

  • Accommodation & meals: Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge/AA Lodge Amboseli/ Amboseli Eco Camp.
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Wake up to a sumptuous early breakfast and set out to the plains for unforgettable wildlife drama. By now, you can’t miss the wall of the mountain to the south—the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro, known as the “roof of Africa”, rising up to 19,000 feet.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest peak and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Most photographers visiting Amboseli usually take advantage of this backdrop to capture much of the park’s wildlife. So, have your camera ready!

You’ll enjoy lunch at your accommodation and then embark on an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is known for its relative ease in wildlife spotting. All of Africa’s Big Five are here, as well as zebra, giraffe, cheetah, warthog, ostrich, and many more. In case you want to fill your day with unlimited game drives, your guide is all for you to make that happen.

The cloud cover above Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit starts to clear toward evening, providing excellent views of one of Africa’s most striking vistas. After your great adventure, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

This is your final day in Amboseli, and you want to squeeze in all the game viewing you can. You’ll start on a pre-breakfast safari and see who you can check off your list. Don’t forget to look for the smaller animals here, like hyenas, foxes, jackals, and monkeys. There’s also a colourful variety of rich birdlife in the park; pelicans, kingfishers, egrets, and herons are found near the park’s marshes and lakes.

Enjoy one more Amboseli breakfast with views of the great Kilimanjaro and then a final game drive as you exit the reserve for Nairobi. You’ll be back in town late in the afternoon and dropped off at your hotel, residence, or airport.
