- This 3 Days Gorilla Habituation Experience safari is a long-distance safari that will require driving between longer routes, and we’ll use 4×4 safari vehicles.
- You’ll be hiking moderately steep slopes as well as searching for the mountain giants at high altitudes between 1,160 to 2,607 metres, which means fitness is required. There are strict guidelines for visiting these places and meeting the gorillas, and you’ll be escorted by a tracker, rangers, and a guide.
- Note that agility is required to embark and disembark whatever vessel is necessary. Wildlife viewing, quantity, and species of animals seen are dependent upon local conditions, including weather, wind, and seasonal migration patterns. After a sumptuous breakfast, you will get ready as your driver guide comes to pick you up for your 3 days gorilla habituation experience. He will brief you about your trip and then commence the long but scenic road trip from Kampala to Kisoro.
You will enjoy breathtaking views of the countryside, which comprises mountains, hills, terraced slopes, tropical rainforests, and finally, the majestic chain of the Virunga volcanoes. You will take short breaks at the equator for photographs and witnessing a water experiment and a lunch break in Mbarara before proceeding to Bwindi’s southern sector of Rushaga.

On this day, after a hefty breakfast at your lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters to join other travelers for registration and briefing. Besides carrying your packed lunch and enough drinking water along with you, you should prepare yourself for muddy, humid, and perhaps challenging conditions.
A day of trekking through the thick rainforest jungles is possible for all reasonably fit and healthy travelers. So, you will start this amazing excursion hiking in the forest jungle, guided by a group of researchers and expert guides. During the trek, you will encounter several birds, animals, and other primates, and once you have found the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of four hours having a face-to-face interaction with them.
Four hours is enough time for you to take as many photos as you can and observe them closely. Only four visitors are allowed each day to take part in this experience, and the gorilla families set up for this are Bushaho and Bikingi. After this awe-inspiring moment, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a great overnight sleep.
After a leisurely breakfast, you may lazily pack up and travel back to Kampala. You will be dropped off at the hotel or at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight back home.

Gorilla tracking is an amazing activity, but for the best experience, you will need:

- Rain poncho or coat during the rainy season
- Camera with an additional battery and charger. No flash photography, lest you frighten the gorillas into being defensive while trekking.
